About

Carol Asuray ‘Priestess of the Flame’ is a performance artist, educator and forest school leader from the UK. Over the last 30 years she has taken her one woman fire show all over the world, performing in the mountains, jungles and beaches of Southern and Central America and with “Fire of the Wastelands” in the USA, as well as delighting audiences at many festivals from the Burning Man Festival of Art to Solipse in Zambia, and of course Glastonbury Festival of Performing Arts.

On her travels she has lived with a community of indigenous people in Columbia, run mountain bike tours in Arizona and taught forest skills to youth referral groups from Torquay in Devon.

Her path has changed from pursuing her own personal work, having acknowledged her calling as a celebrant and teacher, sharing the skills and wisdom that she’s gained with others, in particular the art of ceremony and celebration. These rites of passage are not only for events of birth, marriage and death, but also for beginning and endings. Whether that be loss, illness, leaving jobs, divorce, new journeys, giving thanks or simply to expand one’s personal practice. Carol is deeply committed to personal transformation, has a strong conviction for claiming creative ownership of secular ceremonies, nurturing self-knowledge and going with the flow of intuition; Following her heart whatever adventures may follow.

“It felt like she was this fire priestess, totally embodying the goddess”  Amanda Fox
